About This Course

The Diploma course in Information Technology (IT) is intended to provide students with a wide range of software, technical and technological ICT skills required by industry at the diploma level. The student is expected to develop an IT solution to a practical business problem using an engineering approach.

Duration 

Four Semesters

Mode Of Study:

• Two (2) online CATs, one (1) sit-in CAT towards the end of semester, and one end of semester examinations.

Semester Admission Periods:

• January, May, September

Program Learning Outcomes 

 By the end of the course, the graduate should be able to:

  i) Provide consultancy and advisory services in a dynamic world of ICT  

ii) Design and develop quality and acceptable software solutions  

iii) Diagnose, support and develop quality and acceptable ICT infrastructure  

iv) Design, implement and support security in information systems /ICT environment

Requirements

  • Entry Requirement
  • To be eligible for admission into the Diploma in IT, a candidate must satisfy one of the following minimum requirements:
  • Minimum Grade of C- at KCSE with D+ in both Math and English 
  • O level Certificate with mean grade of division III A Level qualification with minimum of 1P or 3 Sub with at least a D+       
  • Certificate in ICT
  • Certificate in any Information related courses from KNEC
  • Certificate in any Information related courses from KNEC
