OVERVIEW OF THE COURSE
The Diploma in Business Management course (DBM) is one of the courses of the School of Business and Economics, Garissa University. It intends to lay a foundation for the students who wish to join a degree programme and later advance their studies to higher levels. The course is structured such a way that it includes units or courses which capture areas that the job market demands in this global dynamic environment . Necessary academic subjects, consideration of ethical principles and general studies should influence decision-making in a competitive environment. The programme is also intended to provide students with professional foundation tailored to policy formulation and practice in Global scenario.
Programme Duration and Structure
The programme shall be offered in two academic years with four semesters. The first academic year will comprise of fourteen (14) course units. The second academic year will be of six (6) course units, including project work and attachment. A candidate will be deemed to have passed an academic year after successful completion of all the units offered in that year.
The programme will run for four (4) semesters, with each semester running for sixteen (14) weeks. The period of the project work will be part of the programme duration and will be considered as having two (2) course units. Each semester should have a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of seven (7) units.

- Minimum grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE level,
- A relevant Certificate from an accredited institution provided the candidate had a D+ (Plus) in KCSE, OR
- Any other qualification from an accredited institution equivalent to the above
