Garissa University proudly participated in the 22nd Internal Audit Annual Seminar (Second Edition), held from 3rd to 7th November 2025 at PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort and Spa, Mombasa.
Themed: “Internal Audit in Transition: Advancing with Agility and Resilience.”
The seminar brought together leading professionals to explore emerging trends and best practices in internal audit, governance, and risk management.
In attendance were members of the University Council Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee: Mr. John Karani, MBS (Chairman), Dr. Alice Otwala, CBS (Committee Member), and Mr. Vincent Oruocho (Committee Member and Alternate to the PS, State Department for Higher Education). The Council Members were joined by representatives from Garissa University’s Internal Audit Department, including CPA Ahmed Abdirahman (Head of Internal Audit) and CPA Abdi Idle (Internal Auditor).
