Garissa University Holds Sensitization Session on Service Charter Delivery

Garissa, Kenya – Tuesday, 11th November 2025: Garissa University, through the Human Resource Department, conducted a sensitization session on Service Charter Delivery at the University Lecture Theatre. The exercise aimed at enhancing staff awareness, ensuring compliance with the University’s Service Charter commitments, and promoting a culture of excellence in service delivery and customer care across all departments.

The session was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ahmed O. Warfa, PhD, who emphasized the importance of upholding the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and accountability in all university operations. He commended the Human Resource Department for spearheading initiatives that strengthen institutional performance and staff engagement.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Frederick B. J. A. Ngala, PhD, OGW, MBS, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance, Administration and Planning), Prof. Irura Nganga, Registrars, Deans, Directors, the University Librarian, Chairpersons of Departments (CODs), Heads of Departments (HoDs), and members of staff from various sections of the University.

The sensitization exercise forms part of Garissa University’s ongoing efforts to improve service delivery mechanisms and align institutional practices with its core values of integrity, teamwork, and excellence.

All staff members were urged to actively embrace the principles outlined in the Service Charter to ensure effective service delivery to students, stakeholders, and the broader community.
