Garissa University is pleased to announce the 2nd International Conference on Innovation, Resilience, and Sustainable Development (IRSD–2025). The conference will be held under the theme:
The event will bring together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore transformative ideas and practical solutions that advance sustainable development at local, regional, and global levels.
Conference Overview
IRSD–2025 will provide a vibrant platform for sharing research findings, best practices, and innovative approaches for strengthening resilience, driving innovation, and promoting inclusive development within the post-2030 development agenda.

Presentations and discussions will be guided by a wide range of sub-themes, including (but not limited to):
- Climate Change and Environmental Resilience
- Sustainable Livelihoods, Pastoralism, and Food Security
- Harnessing Green Energy for Sustainable Development

Call for Papers & Registration
Garissa University invites the submission of abstracts, research papers, and posters for presentation at the conference.
Submission Guidelines
- Articles should be between 5,500–7,000 words.
- Abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
- Include a maximum of 5 keywords.
- Use the APA referencing style.
- Submissions must be original, unpublished work.
- Formatting: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, 1-inch margins.
- Structure: Abstract → Introduction → Main Body → Conclusion.
- Submit all abstracts and full papers via email: conference@gau.ac.ke.
Registration Fees
- Students: KSh 1,000
- University Staff & Presenters: KSh 1,500
