OFFICE OVERVIEW
The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance, Administration, and Planning plays a crucial role in the overall leadership and management of Garissa University. This position is part of the senior executive team, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor of Garissa University. The main responsibilities of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance, Administration, and Planning include overseeing financial matters, administrative functions, and strategic planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities according to Garissa University Statute VII-B;
- Develops and implement financial strategies to ensure the fiscal health and sustainability of the institution.
- Ensure efficient and effective administrative processes to support the overall mission of the institution.
- Implement policies and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development of the institution's strategic plan.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to operational processes.
- Work closely with academic departments and other units to allocate resources effectively.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, and community partners.
- Identify and foster strategic partnerships that enhance the institution's financial and operational capabilities.
