Vice Chancellor chaired a meeting to host a team from the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS)

Today, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ahmed O. Warfa chaired a meeting to host a team from the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) at our university. The delegation included:

– Hassan Musa – Head, NE Region

– Abdinoor Ole Hussein – Chairman, NE Region

– Daud Ahmed Shalle – Garissa County Coordinator

Abdikadir Jillo – Board Chairman, Garissa County

The purpose of the visit was to follow up on the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing collaboration between our institutions. Notably, the Secretary General of KRCS will be visiting Garissa County on September 17-18, 2024.

Key Highlights for the MOU:

1. Development of Health Sciences, including capacity building, training, and resource sharing.

2. Support for livelihood activities to enhance food security, nutrition, and income.

3. Focus on disaster management, peacebuilding, security, and conflict management.

4. Training and internship opportunities for youth, staff, and communities.

5. Scholarships for students, particularly volunteers at KRCS.

6. Establishment of innovation and incubation centers for improved livelihoods.

7. Research-based interventions for sustainable solutions.

We look forward to formalizing this partnership to create impactful changes in our communities! 🤝
